Margot Carleton, ACC, is an IT executive with over 30 years of leadership experience at both large and small companies. She has now dedicated herself full-time to leadership development and coaching to grow the next generation of leaders. Margot spent 10 years as the VP/CIO at BAMSI, a large human service non-profit, and prior to that, she spent 25 years at Kendall/Tyco Healthcare/Covidien/Medtronic, a medical supplies and device manufacturer, where she was VP responsible for applications and acquisition integrations.
Currently, she works for the SIM Leadership Institute as a Leadership Development facilitator and their Director of Finance and Administration. She is a certified Leadership & Transition Coach, as well as a board volunteer.

Eric Lutz is the President of MDCOM, a technology company specializing in VoIP, surveillance cameras, and card access systems. With over 20 years of experience, Eric has been crucial to the company’s growth and success. He is a dedicated member and Past-President of Brockton Rotary, actively participating in various philanthropic initiatives. Eric also volunteers as a teaching advisor for School on Wheels, supporting homeless children’s education. Peter Martin is a dedicated financial advisor with a diversified financial background as a former Division Financial Controller at Medtronic / Covidien. His corporate career has been entirely devoted to the medical products industry, showcasing his specialized expertise. Peter is an active member of the Massachusetts Financial Planning Association and has been passionately involved in supporting the GrowHope Foundation through various fundraising activities since 2013. Richard Hooke. Richard Hooke has been on the GrowHope Foundation’s Advisory Board since 2015 and is currently the Vice President of Commercial Business at Sharon Credit Union. With over 25 years in banking, he is dedicated to helping businesses find the best commercial lending solutions.
Richard is also active in community service, having served as the past president of the Rotary Club of Brockton, where he volunteers at a local veterans’ breakfast program. He supports families in need through food drives and charitable activities. Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with his family. His commitment to community service and helping others is commendable, making him a valuable member of the GrowHope Foundation.
Trent Sanders is a versatile creative enthusiast and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience helping businesses thrive through innovative marketing, design, and growth strategies. Based north of Boston, he collaborates with clients who value strategic thinking and tailored approaches to branding and business development.
Throughout his career, Trent has successfully led teams and projects across various industries, including technology, healthcare, and professional services. With a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of marketing strategies, he has consistently delivered results-driven solutions that have enhanced brand visibility and boosted client success.
Trent’s passion for supporting communities extends beyond his professional career. He actively participates in various non-profit ventures, including GrowHope and Mutt Society, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing bicycles to underprivileged children, empowering them to explore the world and gain independence through cycling.

Diane Shannon is a skilled accounting and finance professional in the Greater Boston Area, known for her strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and team motivation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management from Stonehill College. Diane’s experience with non-profits has given her a deep appreciation for community efforts, and she is committed to supporting local organizations. Her expertise in financial planning and reporting significantly contributes to the Grow Hope Foundation’s governance and strategic decisions. Richard K. Hynes was born at the old Goddard Hospital in downtown Brockton. His father, Robert Hynes, joined Barbour Welting Company after graduating from Brockton High School. Richard attended all Brockton schools, graduating from Brockton High School. At 16, he began working at Barbour after school and during vacations, continuing through college. He attended Boston University, earning a BA in Biology, and began graduate studies at Northeastern University.
Robert Hynes and Anthony Matteoli purchased the nearly bankrupt Barbour Welting Co. Richard left his education to join the company full-time, aiming to restore its solvency and diversify into non-footwear markets within the plastics industry. He was appointed President of the Company by his father, who passed away in 1996. Their diversification into plastic profile extrusion was highly successful, resulting in a strong company with a solid balance sheet.
In community activities, Richard joined the Brockton Rotary Club and served on its board for numerous terms. He was elected to the board of directors of the Brockton-based Community Bank and became Chairman of the Board. The bank was acquired by Eastern Bank. He served on the board of directors of the Old Colony YMCA and was elected to the board of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, eventually serving as Chairman.
Richard married Cynthia Stone, and they had one child, Andrew Hynes, who tragically passed away. After retiring from his business, Richard and his wife frequently travel between their homes in East Bridgewater, West Dennis Cape Cod, and Naples, Florida, and vacation in other parts of the world.
His hobbies include investing in stocks, woodworking, photography, reading, and exercising. Richard is passionate about making a difference in the community, dedicating significant time and effort to various community organizations and initiatives. He has been instrumental in creating positive change and helping those in need. His dedication and enthusiasm have had a lasting impact on the community.
Kimberly Welch is the Director of Enterprise Applications at Charles River Associates, where she oversees the implementation of technology solutions to drive operational efficiency and enhance business processes. With a strong background in business analysis, software management and customer service, Kim brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to her role.
After receiving her Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from Virginia Tech, Kim settled in the Washington, DC area. She spent the next five years honing her skills in various IT roles. However, the call home drew her back, and she relocated to her home state of Massachusetts.
In 2024, Kim joined the Advisory Board of GrowHope Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every child has equal access to a quality education and the promise of a brighter future. She is committed to making a difference in children’s lives and is excited about the opportunity to be part of an organization that shares her passion. She also enjoys reading, playing tennis and travelling in her free time.

Garblah Page was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia. He moved to the United States in July 2000 to pursue university studies. Garblah graduated from Texas Southern University with a BA in Management and earned a Graduate Certificate in Internet Marketing from Full Sail University. He also holds an MBA with a focus on Healthcare Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Garblah started his entrepreneurial journey at fourteen in Monrovia, Liberia. This early experience led him to expand his business interests and develop expertise in providing quality, timely service. He is passionate about helping others and volunteers with various non-profits and community organizations, often taking on leadership roles in his community and church.
Garblah is the President of Epic Toning Financial Solutions and the Founder of People Embracing Growth Today, Inc. (PEGToday). He is dedicated to supporting youth and young adults through financial literacy and mentoring, helping them succeed in various aspects of life. Garblah shares his financial knowledge through coaching, tax preparation, tax planning, and wealth building. His commitment to community service and giving back is evident through his active involvement in various philanthropic initiatives, reflecting his dedication to empowering others and fostering positive change in his community.

Comfort Nyeswah Wiafe is a compassionate advocate for mental well-being, deeply committed to uplifting her community. With a profound understanding of the cultural and spiritual needs of the individuals she serves, she has dedicated her time to providing spaces where people feel seen and heard. As a licensed therapist and private practice owner, she serves professionals and entrepreneurs in Massachusetts and Texas, using her expertise to foster healing.
Comfort is also the founder of Equipped To Prosper, a platform that connects Africans worldwide to culturally and spiritually sensitive therapists. Her passion is reflected in her service to her community, both locally and nationally, as she consistently works to create a path to better mental health for all. In addition to her professional endeavors, Comfort is a valued member of the GrowHope Foundation Advisory Board, where she contributes her expertise to support the foundation’s initiatives and further its mission. Comfort also actively contributes to her local community by organizing mental health workshops and support groups, ensuring that her efforts not only benefit her clients but also promote mental well-being within the broader community.
Amy MacMannis-Freeland recently retired from a 20+ year career as an Academic Advisor at Bridgewater State University to become an independent contractor. Her goal is to help
students, particularly first-generation students, acquire the information and resources they need to overcome challenges. Over the years, she has developed strengths in interpersonal and public communications, including researching, writing, interviewing, and creating. One of her proudest achievements is co-producing the Voices Compilation, a series of videos highlighting the experiences and challenges of undergraduate students whose voices typically go unheard. These videos and their accompanying Action Guide have been disseminated at local and national conferences, including ACA, NACADA, and TRIO.
During her higher education career, Amy served on the Veteran’s Advisor committee, the Pride Committee for GLBTQ+ students, and as co-chair for the Academic Achievement Center Racial Justice Group. She also dedicated her time to social causes outside of the school setting, including No First Time, an addiction prevention program. One of her independent projects, a video for parents and founders, has been featured at presentations throughout New England and can be viewed here: No First Time. Her interests are varied and include assisting in saving a local skating rink and an abandoned historic farm, presenting on the importance of protecting ponds and water supplies from contamination and invasive species, and creating and marketing cultural events for the community such as a folk concert and Latin dance night. Most recently, she spent the summer of 2024 volunteering for the Summer Stage Theater Camp.
For enjoyment, Amy loves to walk, write, participate in Zumba and pottery classes, play with her grand kids, travel to Ireland, Maine, and Cape Cod, and spend time with family and friends. She has also co-authored a children’s book with her mother, Mary Parker, titled “Nobody Likes a Tattle Tale!” and is working on a play titled “From Studio to Spotlight: The Mamie LaConga Story.” Amy MacMannis-Freeland continues to contribute to her community and looks forward to new projects and opportunities to give back.

Nick McCummings, formerly of Boston, MA, relocated to Virginia in 2022. With 33 years’ experience as a licensed insurance broker, Nick specializes in personal lines insurance. He has a strong community service background, serving as past president of the Rotary Club of Brockton, Massachusetts. He is currently 2024-2025 president of the New Kent Rotary Club. Additionally, Nick is a member of Mann Page Masonic Lodge 157.
In his personal time, Nick enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including hockey, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time at the beach. He is also deeply committed to his community, actively coaching disabled hockey and serving as the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey SE Representative and assistant coach for the US National Blind Hockey Team.
Thomas Samaras is a dedicated professional and community advocate based in Bridge water, Massachuses. Born and raised in Brockton, he has a strong background in finance and banking and currently works as a Mortgage Loan Officer at Loan Depot, helping individuals and families navigate the home buying process.
Outside of his professional career, Thomas is deeply committed to making a positive impact in his community. He resides in Bridge water with his wife, Kristyn, and their two children, Aubrey and Caden. Passionate about giving back, Thomas actively seeks opportunities to use his experience and resources to support causes that strengthen the local community.
Richard Berry was invited to join the GrowHope Foundation’s Board in 2024, bringing a fresh perspective shaped by his experience as the child of deaf parents. Richard has spent his career in human services, fostering growth and independence for individuals with diverse needs. His experience managing group homes and employment programs has instilled in him a deep understanding of goal setting, problem-solving, and resilience.
As Payroll Director at a non-profit, Richard prioritizes knowledge, customer service, transparency, and trust, reflecting his commitment to building strong and supportive relationships. He is passionate about supporting the foundation to empower young learners, particularly those in underserved communities. Richard is dedicated to the GrowHope Foundation’s mission and to helping children build confidence and skills.
He believes that teaching coding to children equips them with valuable technical skills and cultivates essential life skills. As children engage in the creative process of coding, they learn how to set goals, unravel complex problems, and persevere through challenges — essential skills that transcend coding.
Mamunie Dennis is a dedicated community activist with a long service history. She served as Vice President of the GrowHope Foundation Board for 6 years and was previously President of the Liberian Association of the Northshore. Additionally, she held the position of Vice President of Administration for the Federation of Liberian Communities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was the Women’s Wing Head of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas.
Currently, Ms. Dennis works as an Immunohematology Supervisor at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Her recent appointment to the Lynn Cultural Council highlights her commitment to promoting excellence, inclusion, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and sciences, fostering a rich cultural life in her community.
Ms. Dennis is passionate about volunteering and giving back to her community. She serves as a Liaison for Special Projects at the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas. She advocates change through education and sustainable development. Her dedication and leadership have made a significant impact on the communities we serve.
JoAnne Woods Young, the best-selling author of “Stress Less for Student Success,” is a speaker, counselor, and coach who loves people and is dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteer work with nonprofit organizations. A former high school counselor and college admissions representative, JoAnne is acutely aware of the stresses facing students today. For the past 10 years, she has traveled extensively, speaking to high school and college students about best practices for managing stress and inspiring them to follow their dreams.
JoAnne has been chosen to serve on the advisory boards of several high schools in her area. She also maintains a private practice in Easton, MA, where she works with students and adults on stress management and teaches Yoga and Meditation to kids.
JoAnne holds both a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctoral degree in Core Counseling and she combines her extensive knowledge and experience to support and guide individuals in managing stress and achieving their goals.
Faith Musenge is a dedicated scientist with over twelve years’ experience in the field. He is deeply passionate about research aimed at discovering lifelong cures for debilitating diseases. In addition to his research, Faith takes great pleasure in educating the next generation of scientists about the importance of science. He looks forward to continuing his contributions to scientific research and serving as a valuable resource for aspiring scientists.

Evans Chiyombwe is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, and quality improvement. His career spans both the healthcare and mining industries.
A graduate of the Bellevue University an MBA in Healthcare Administration and Finance from Bellevue University, he also graduated from Copper belt University in Zambia and later worked as Metallurgist. His professional journey led him from the hydro metallurgical copper mines to the dynamic world of healthcare management. Currently Evans Chiyombwe is serving as a
senior director at Victory Human Services and CEO at Global Frontier Network. As a strategic leader, Evans Chiyombwe has spearheaded numerous planning initiatives for organizations generating substantial revenue. His ability to identify and address human capital, budgetary, and process-related challenges while staying attuned to industry trends has been instrumental in driving organizational success.
Committed to quality and patient care, Evans Chiyombwe has successfully led healthcare companies in achieving national accreditation from the Council on Accreditation and the Joint Commission. His expertise in governance and process improvement has resulted in tangible benefits for organizations, including enhanced efficiency, reduced risk, and improved resource utilization.

Ebenezer T. Sartiah is a results-driven Regional Director with 16 years of experience managing clinical and rehabilitation programs for incarcerated individuals. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Becker College, a Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from West field State University, an Associate Degree in Human Services, and a Certificate in Human Services from Quinsigamond Community College.
In his role as Regional Director at Spectrum Health Systems (MADOC Division), Ebenezer provides and manages rehabilitation programs and services across Massachusetts state correctional facilities. He develops and implements programs to support rehabilitation and reintegration, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and reduce recidivism.

Sesay T. Johnson, a native Liberian who migrated to the United States due to the Liberian Civil War, has dedicated his life to making a difference in his homeland and beyond. Recognizing the tremendous burdens placed on Liberia’s children after the civil war, Sesay felt a sense of obligation to give back to his native country. Liberia suffers from crippling infrastructure and inadequate education. His love for children inspired him to create GrowHope Foundation, a nonprofit public foundation that promotes children’s education.
After implementing several successful projects in Liberia, Sesay expanded the foundation to develop educational programs benefiting students in Brockton, Massachusetts. These programs provide elementary students with the opportunity to learn about science and technology through an After-School Coding and Mentorship Program. Through individual donors, support from local businesses, and revenue generated at annual fundraisers, GrowHope Foundation has begun to transform a generation of children.
Sesay is an active member of the community, serving on several nonprofit boards. His community work was recognized by the Patriots Foundation’s Myra Kraft Community MVP award in 2019. He also served as president of the Rotary Club of Brockton.

with the mission of giving back to the communities he loves by providing support and guidance to underserved youth, in hopes of creating brighter futures for children. Sesay is committed to improving the quality of life through an innovative approach that is sustainable and beneficial for humanity. He resides in Massachusetts and is married with four children.
Robin Urciuoli, CFP®, CPA, is a senior client relationship manager with a wealth of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She leverages her strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities to assist clients in achieving their long-term financial goals. Robin’s background includes a decade-long career in public accounting and a subsequent role at Beacon Financial, where she honed her expertise in financial planning.
In addition to her professional designations, Robin holds a Series 65 securities registration. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Eisenberg School of Management, demonstrating her commitment to academic and professional excellence. Beyond her professional and community service endeavors, Robin is a licensed massage therapist and an avid equestrienne. She enjoys spending her free time spoiling her dog and cat, showcasing her passion for animals and her diverse interests outside of her career.
Dr. Marybeth O’Brien is a seasoned educational leader specializing in equity-centered instructional practices. As the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Framingham Public Schools, she has focused on inclusivity, equity, and excellence in education. With over 20 years of experience in urban education, she has held various roles, including school principal, assistant principal, instructional coordinator, coach, and classroom teacher. Her expertise includes promoting equity-focused professional learning communities, implementing evidence-based instructional strategies, and removing barriers to student success. She is a champion for culturally responsive pedagogy, empowering educators to use asset-based mindsets and data-driven practices to close opportunity gaps.
Dr. O’Brien holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from American International College, an M.Ed. in Urban Education from Simmons College, and a B.S. in Political Science and Urban Elementary Education from Northeastern University. She has also completed the Lynch Leadership Academy and the eCornell Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Program. Her accomplishments include securing multimillion-dollar grants, receiving the Brockton Rotary Club Distinguished Service Award, and presenting at national and state educational conferences. She has served on several boards and community organizations, including the GrowHope Foundation, City of Brockton Historical Commission, and Bridgewater State University Professional Development School Board.

Euphemia William Jones, a dedicated Board Member of the GrowHope Foundation since 2016, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She earned a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Teaching, followed by a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. With over two decades’ experience in the Early Education and Care profession, Ms. Jones is a passionate advocate for children’s education. She is the proprietor of a private childcare center in Brockton, Massachusetts, demonstrating her commitment to quality early education.
Ms. Jones is affiliated with several esteemed organization, including the Massachusetts Early Childhood Educators Union, School on Wheels, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Her past roles include serving on the Academic and Scholarship Committee of her alma mater, the B.W. Harris Alumni Association USA, and as a member of the Academic Committee for the Center for Sustainable Development in Africa. These experiences underscore her dedication to community service and educational advancement.

Darren previously served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Massachusetts Department of Correction and spent seven years as the Director of Communications for the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, a national mortgage company and advocacy organization based in Boston. In this role, he utilized his extensive broadcast media experience to help the company navigate the nation’s financial and mortgage crisis.
A graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., Darren began his professional career as a congressional staff member on Capitol Hill. He later served as the Chief of Staff for Mayor Bill Carpenter in Brockton, MA. Currently, Darren is the Director of Communications and Outreach for the Brockton Police Department. Beyond his professional achievements, Darren is committed to giving back to the community, utilizing his skills and experience to support local initiatives and advocating for positive change.
Betty Rada has been an active board member of GrowHope since April 2016. A Brockton resident for over 30 years, she has been deeply involved in the community for several years. Mrs. Rada has dedicated 16 years to the federal government, showcasing her commitment to public service. Ms. Rada’s current membership affiliations include the New England Social Security Management
Association, Bridgewater Rotary Club, Brockton Parade Community, Brockton Garden Club, and Brockton Parent’s Magazine. As a Rotarian, she is committed to service and community development, consistently demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact.
In addition to her professional and community engagements, Ms. Rada is a loving mother of three boys. Her dedication to her family and community reflects her strong values and unwavering commitment to improving others’ lives.
